An entertaining end to the 2025 PGA Championship at the Quail Hollow Club saw Scottie Scheffler hold out despite a early Sunday surge from Spaniard Jon Rahm with the 30-year-old slipping up in the final holes and wound up -4 for the tournament.

Coming into the final day’s action, Scheffler was in pole position to win the third major title of his career, after the American stormed to the top of the leaderboard ahead of Sunday’s final round.

In Saturday’s third round at Quail Hollow Club, Scheffler shot a six-under 65 to finish the day with a three-stroke lead.

The world No. 1 ended Saturday’s round on 11 under, ahead of Sweden’s Alex Noren who was up to second after a round-three 67. Coming into Sunday’s round, Jon Rahm was sitting joint fifth on Saturday after posting a 67 for the day.

Scheffler becomes the tenth consecutive American golfer to bag the PGA Championship after Xander Schauffele winning out in 2024 at the Valhalla club in Kentucky.

2025 prize money

A record $19 million prize purse was confirmed by the PGA of America this week which is up $500,000 from 2024 and $1.5 million from 2023 showing the PGA of America is continuing to invest in its signature event.
