The first US 1000 Masters of the calendar has started and the best players in the world have gathered in California looking to go all the way and become the Indian Wells champions.

Although legends Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic are out of the BNP Paribas Open, there will be quite a few top players still in the competition. Rafa pulled out with a nagging injury and Djokovic was stunned by “lucky loser” Luca Nardi in the last round.

No player has looked hotter than Carlos Alcaraz and he will face Fabian Marozsan, who beat him last time out.

The crowd attending Indian Wells, considered the biggest tournament outside of the sport’s four majors, will also see top contenders Stefanos Tsitsipas, Alexander Zverev, and Alex de Minaur in action.

Meanwhile, in the women’s category, American talents Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula will be playing against Ena Shibahara and Asia Muhammad in the doubles, while world number one Iga Swiatek will face Yulia Putintseva.
