Meet Rebecca Donaldson, the Scottish model and entrepreneur turning heads in F1 alongside boyfriend Carlos Sainz

Carlos Sainz is having one of the trickiest seasons of his career after switching to Williams from Ferrari ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 season, managing just a solitary podium finish in his first year with the British team. The Spaniard, however, will be hoping to end the season with a flourish, starting at the Las Vegas Grand Prix, where he will be cheered on by his girlfriend, Rebecca Donaldson.

The couple’s story began in the summer of 2023 when they were snapped together in Corsica, although it wasn’t until the start of 2024 that they truly went public with their relationship. Donaldson and Sainz posed together for the camera, smiling and embracing in Yanbu, Saudi Arabia, as they celebrated his father’s fourth Dakar Rally win.

That trip to Yanbu was more than just a family visit; it marked a new chapter in the F1 driver’s personal life following his seven-year relationship with journalist Isa Hernáez.

Who is Rebecca Donaldson?

Though she has stepped into the spotlight relatively recently, Rebecca’s professional career began more than a decade ago. Hailing from Perthshire, Scotland, she studied at Perth Academy and still has family living in Scone. Her life now takes her around the globe, first for work and now to support her partner at racing circuits worldwide.

Model, entrepreneur, influencer

At 30, Donaldson is one year younger than Sainz. She started modeling at 17, participating in the Face of 2011 competition and later in Top Model UK. Her career includes campaigns and covers for top magazines like Elle, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire and Vogue, as well as an ad for Ferrari, Sainz’s former team.

She has also launched her own athletic apparel brand, Muse Activewear.

Previous high-profile relationships

Donaldson briefly dated actor and model Scott Disick, Kourtney Kardashian’s ex, in mid-2022. There were also rumors linking her to Leonardo DiCaprio the following year.

But her life in 2025 is different, as Donaldson now enjoys a visible and affectionate relationship with Sainz, which has resonated with fans and marks a new stage in both their lives.
