Update:

A few months ago, the bombshell dropped that Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather would face each other in an exhibition fight in 2026. No further information was released – no date, no venue – leaving everything hanging. Tyson broke the silence at ‘An Experience With’, saying things are moving clearly and offering new details. “It will be in March and it will be in Africa,” he said.

What’s known about Tyson vs Mayweather 2026

No one expected this pairing. In September, the surprising fight was announced with nothing more than confirmation that the contract had been signed. As time passed with no updates, the initial shock faded. Tyson has no intention of letting the story drift. “It’s going to be incredible. We’re going to break all the records. It will be one of the biggest events in the history of sports,” he added.

No further details have been confirmed. Weight is one of the biggest issues. Tyson was one of the most iconic heavyweight champions, while Mayweather ruled in five divisions from super featherweight to super welterweight. There is still no word on glove size, the number of rounds or their length, or the city that will host the event.

Mayweather, now 48, has extensive experience in exhibitions. After retiring in 2017, when he knocked out Conor McGregor, he returned to the ring several times to face Logan Paul, John Gotti III and Tenshin Nasukawa. There was also talk of a potential fight with Manny Pacquiao, but that would be an official bout. Tyson, who has been retired for about 20 years, climbed back into the ring at 59 to face Jake Paul, a performance in which he did not look good.
