Nadal will return to the tennis courts at the Qatar Open

The Spanish tennis legend got injured in January, before featuring in the Australian Open, but he will be back to action soon.

Update:
The Spanish tennis legend got injured in January, before featuring in the Australian Open, but he will be back to action soon.

The first Grand Slam tournament of the year, the Australian Open, is already part of the past and players are already competing in some 250 and 500 ATP tournaments on clay and hard courts.

Some top players hope to get to the start of March in great shape, a month known in the tennis calendar for the two 1000 Masters events in Indian Wells and Miami.

One of them is Rafa Nadal, who hopes to be ready to compete at the highest level before that, as he will make his return to the tennis courts at the Qatar Open, which will be played February 19-24 in Doha.

The 22-time major winner missed the Australian Open after suffering a small muscle tear during his comeback from a long injury layoff at the Brisbane International tournament.

Nadal joins Djokovic at Indian Wells

Nadal, who could be living his last year as a tennis player, will travel to the US in March to feature in Indian Wells.

If everything goes as planned and the Manacor native finally ends up playing in the event, he could potentially face Novak Djokovic, who had previously announced he would feature in the tournament for the first time since 2019.

Recently, it was announced that both players will go head-to-head in the Six Kings Slam, an exhibition tournament that will be held in Saudi Arabia next October.

It is uncertain if Nadal will play in Miami after that or if he will decide to travel to Europe to focus on the clay court season.

Besides Rafa and Nole, Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, and the rest of the world’s top 10 will also compete in Indian Wells.
