Update:

Few figures are as iconic in combat sports as the announcers who set the stage for battle. In the UFC, that role belongs to none other than Bruce Buffer, whose booming voice and signature catchphrase - “It’s time!” - have become synonymous with the sport itself.

When did Buffer first appear in UFC?

Buffer made his debut back in 1996 at UFC 8, and since then, he’s been the voice behind some of the most memorable moments in MMA history.

Having announced at milestone events like UFC 100 (2009), UFC 200 (2016), and UFC 300 (2024), Buffer has now been a fixture in the Octagon for three decades.

But he’s not done yet. In a recent interview on the YouTube channel Clocked N’ Loaded, the 67-year-old revealed he is eager to carry on until at least UFC 400.

“That’s my plan”

I plan to [be at UFC 400] - that’s a goal,” Buffer said. “I figure I’ve got about another eight years or so, and that’s my plan.

When will UFC 400 be?

Given that UFC’s centennial events typically occur every seven years, UFC 400 is projected to take place in 2031. By then, Buffer will be 74 years old - and he hopes to cap a legendary career by making that landmark date.
