One Game 7 remains in the Western Conference as the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs First Round concludes tomorrow. One game in the Western Conference Second Round has already been decided. Here’s what we know so far.

NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs Second Round: Western Conference

While the Eastern Conference Second Round matchups have already been decided, there is still a Game 7 remaining in the West. However, two other series ended in six, deciding the first matchup of the Western Conference Second Round, and another Game 7 has determined one team who will advance in the West as well.

Eastern Conference Second Round schedule

The Edmonton Oilers and Vegas Golden Knights won their First Round series (against the Los Angeles Kings and Minnesota Wild, respectively) and will now face each other in a highly anticipated rematch after Vegas eliminated Edmonton in 2023 and went on to win the Stanley Cup.

Vegas will be a much more challenging offense for the Oilers to deal with than the Kings were, but the team is prepared to correct the mistakes of their past.

“I think it becomes a little chip on your shoulder playing against a team that knocked a lot of these guys out a few years ago, and I’m sure that’s at the top of their minds,” Oilers right winger Connor Brown said. “For us, it’s another team in the way, so we’ll be prepared.”

Game 7 between the Dallas Stars and Colorado Avalanche came to a thrilling end on Saturday night as the Stars rallied from two goals down to take the win and eliminate Colorado.

On Sunday at 7 p.m. ET, the St. Louis Blues will play the Winnipeg Jets after even-ing the series on Friday. The winners of those two games will face each other in Round 2.
