Tyson Fury's record in his professional boxing career: Wins, losses, knockouts, titles
The man known as the ‘Gypsy King’ will take on Oleksander Usyk for the unified heavyweight title in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
Tyson Fury will be out for revenge when he takes on Oleksander Usyk on Saturday night, battling for the unified heavyweight title. The fight will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Saturday, December 21.
The two men met back in May in a historic night for the 37-year-old Usyk. The Ukrainian triumphed with a split decision victory in the first fight, becoming the first undisputed heavyweight champions since Lennox Lewis captured all four sanctioned belts in 2000.
Now 36, Fury remains one of the biggest draws in the world of boxing. Over the course of his illustrious career he has held multiple heavyweight championships. He held the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight belt until the loss to Usyk earlier this year and is hoping to record one more comeback in his astonishing boxing career.
“I want him to be the best he’s ever been. I hope I get the best version,” Fury said ahead of Saturday’s rematch. “It’s always round 13 in a rematch, I suppose. I’ve had plenty of them. Round 13 for sure. And I was coming on strong in the last round too. So it should be a good round for me the first one.”
Tyson Fury’s rise to greatness
The ‘Gypsy King’ has had a long and colorful boxing career, matching his equally outlandish personality. For more than 20 years Tyson Fury has climbed the ranks of boxing, battling his way up from humble beginnings.
As for when it all started, Fury began his professional career in 2008, when he was just 20 years old. Within a few years he had claimed British, Commonwealth, and European titles in quick succession and was soon taking on the world’s best.
Fury truly became a global star with a shock win over Wladimir Klitschko in 2015. Klitscho had been the reigning world heavyweight champions for a decade and few gave Fury a chance, before the Brit went on to claim a unanimous victory. That victory saw him named Fighter of the Year by The Ring and his win was named Upset of the Year.
What is Tyson Fury’s boxing record?
Across his 17-year career Fury has a record of 34-1-1, with 24 of those wins coming by way of knockout. That sole defeat came in the meeting with Usyk earlier this year and victory on Saturday would go a long way to restoring his stellar reputation.
Fury’s only draw came from the first bout against American Deontay Wilder in 2018, in which he performed a miraculous recovery after hitting the canvas in round. He looked down and out but managed to return to his feet, steady himself, and see out the final minutes.
In December 2022 Fury took on Derek Chisora in a trilogy bout, defeating his fellow countryman via TKO. Immediately after the fight he issued a challenge to fellow undefeated heavyweight champion Usyk, who was seated ringside, to face him in an undisputed heavyweight bout. The Ukrainian got the better of the first fight but Fury will fancy his chances of revenge.
