Who is the US Open fan who went viral for chugging a beer for the second year in a row?

This year’s US Open has been pretty intense, largely because of what was expected to be tennis legend Serena Williams’ swan song. However, one fan in the audience lightened the atmosphere at the Arthur Ashe with her own performance- that of chugging down a beer in record time, which earned her some wild cheers from the crowd.

The camera zoomed in on Megan Lucky and she quickly grabbed her (very supportive) partner’s beer and downed it in a few seconds.

US Open two-peat

Her little show was a repeat of what she did last year, when she first went viral for doing exactly the same thing.

Her moment at the US Open in 2021 may have something to do with her having a substantial social media following of more than 30,000 on Instagram, as many comments on her photos reference her beer-drinking abilities.

In her account, Lucky said she studied sports and entertainment management at the University of South Carolina. She also spoke about beer, which her followers understandably wanted to know more about.

The 25-year-old said she drank Heineken beer at the stadium, which she does not think is her favorite. She does clarify that she does not know exactly which beer she likes best, though she confesses to liking Stella (Artois).

Will we see Lucky again next year? Well, as the US Open account itself tweeted, her antics might have already become a tournament tradition.
