Jamal Musiala’s strong return has given Kompany a major selection call before Bayern’s decisive home showdown with Real Madrid.

A late name twist for Bayern Munich before decisive Real Madrid clash
Jamal Musiala could emerge as Bayern Munich’s key figure ahead of the second leg against Real Madrid and break into the German champion’s starting lineup for Wednesday’s heavyweight showdown at the Allianz Arena, according to TZ. The Germany international has grown in importance after overcoming the physical issues stemming from the fibula fracture he suffered last summer at the Club World Cup, and he could replace Serge Gnabry, who is a doubt because of knee discomfort.
Will Musiala play for Bayern against Madrid?
In Bayern’s most recent Bundesliga game, Musiala was already decisive in the 5-0 rout of St. Pauli, scoring the Bavarians’ opening goal with a header, providing an assist and being named MVP. His performance strengthened the confidence of the coaching staff led by Vincent Kompany, who is now said to be weighing whether to include one of Europe’s six-time champion’s most game-changing players in the starting lineup against Real Madrid, provided he is fully fit.

Heading into the clash with Madrid, Musiala is clearly the leading option for the attacking midfield role if Gnabry is unable to recover in time. The player himself feels he has taken a step forward on the road back to his best form, opening the door to a more decisive role than the one he had in the first leg at the Santiago Bernabéu, where he played the final 20 minutes. Even so, Kompany will wait until the last training session before making a final decision.
