Barcelona have confirmed a friendly match against Club América before Christmas, which will be played at Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas on December 21.

Two days before, the blaugrana will play at Montjuïc in the last league match of the year against Almería. The squad will then take a charter flight to the United States to play the friendly to create extra revenue for the club in a lucrative deal before returning to Barcelona.

Where will Barcelona play América?

The match will be played at the Cotton Bowl Stadium, a venue which holds 92,100 fans and was opened in 1930.

It is not the first time that Barcelona have taken advantage of any opportunity to organise a friendly match that will bring them a profit. Last season, just after the end of LaLiga at the end of May, the team travelled to Sydney to play against a team of players from the Australian league. It was the first time Barcelona had travelled to Australia. After the match, the squad immediately returned to Barcelona and most of the players started their holidays.

Club effort

They will also take advantage of the break for the Christmas holidays to schedule the friendly. The dressing room is aware that they have to make an effort to help the club in whatever way they can to get out of the delicate financial situation in which they find themselves. The South American players in the squad will have permission to travel to their countries to join their families to celebrate the Christmas holidays.
