FutbolJobs will choose 25 footballers from all across the planet to celebrate the third edition of the Professional Tryouts in Alicante.

FutbolJobs will choose 25 footballers from all across the planet to celebrate the third edition of the Professional Tryouts in Alicante.

Now that the current campaign is arriving at an end, footballers already have their minds geared towards the 2023-24 season. Agents, constant phone calls, contacts... It’s time for many players to find a team that fits their needs and style to start the fast-approaching pre-season. Highlight videos beam around social media in search of a sporting director who may be attracted to the quality on show, but there is nothing like seeing a footballer on the pitch, with most clubs preferring to see the player in action before confirming a new signing.

And that is where FutbolJobs makes life a lot easier. This is the third summer that the company has organised the FutbolJobs Professional Tryouts, something of an audition in which, for 15 days, 20 players from all over the world introduce themselves on the pitch to sporting directors, scouts and agents who will be present at the event which is set up by the Alicante-based job-search and training company within the world of football.

The FutbolJobs managers are already hard at work with their squads of players. The company from Alicante has received more than 300 applications and predictions say that more than 500 will arrive in total. Of these, 25 profiles will be chosen that fit what David de la Hera, former manager of Hércules and Elche, believes will form a competitive team.

Pancho Guerrero, Under-20 World champion with Argentina in 1995, will be on his coaching staff. “The selected footballers come here with huge levels of excitement and we try to help them to convince a sporting director so that they can find a team in Spain according to their level. This year we hope that a high percentage will achieve their goal ”, said De la Hera.

Which players have made it to become footballers thanks to the scheme?

In this edition, players from Liberia, Guinea, Belgium, Venezuela, Argentina, France and Spain have already been confirmed, making it a truly global squad. The 25 chosen will train at the University of Alicante and will play several friendly matches from July 24 to August 6 where sporting directors and scouts from all over Europe will come in search of an unknown gem that could fit into their plans for next season.

In previous editions, players like Joel Jordá and Fran Estepa have signed for Hércules. Moroccan Monsef Buedan got trials with Torrent, from Tercera RFEF; Kevin, Ulises Bragado, Joaquin and Gustavo Rodrigues participated in the trials organised by Athletic Torrellano from Tercera RFEF, while Hugo Vales and Aliou Mballo ended up in the Andorran league. Who knows who could be next?
