Jan Oblak: "We started badly"

Jan Oblak has spoken to DAZN after Atlético's defeat. 

"We started badly in the first 20-25 minutes. We were scared and lacked confidence. Then we woke up, but at 0-1 it's more difficult.

"We should have started like that and we didn't. Barça scored and then the game was more difficult."

It wasn't to be on Atlético's first home game of the new year. They had their chances but it wouldn't go in.

Raphinha makes an early impact off the bench. Pedri plays it out to him on the left. He takes a touch and pulls the trigger. It's blocked and goes out for a corner; Atlético clear the corner.

Lemar presses and wins it off Kessié. Griezmann picks it up in the inside left channel but he blasts it high and wide into the Atlético fans behind the goal. 0-1

Ferran Torres fires it past Jan Oblak to score Barcelona's second of the night but he's offside at the back post. Xavi's celebrations are short-lived.

Raphinha is about to come on for Barcelona.

Dembélé looks for his brace but drags a shot from the edge of the area wide of the post. Barcelona lead 1-0 as we approach the final 20 minutes of the game.

Morata and Kondogbia are on as Atleti chase the game.

Marcos Llorente breaks into the box and shoots with his weaker left foot. It's low and on target but Ter Stegen dives to his left and keeps it out.

The French winger is through on goal, he shoots, but Savic slides and gets a touch on it. 

It comes off the post! Barcelona go so close to doubling their lead in the Spanish capital.

We have just passed the hourmark and as things stand, Barcelona will be extending their lead at the top of the table.

Molina has gotten joy down the right tonight. Balde does not get close enough and the Argentinian is allowed to cross low. Griezmann moves out in front but can't keep his shot down. It's positive from Atlético.

Griezmann is played in but Araújo reads it exceptionally well and clears the danger.

Barcelona lead at the break thanks to Ousmane Dembélé's strike in the 22nd minute.

It falls to Molina again on the right. This time he goes to place it but it rolls wide.

There will be one minute added on.

Atlético have a corner on the left. Carrasco curls it in. Barcelona are able to deal with it as they look to take their 1-0 lead into half-time.

GRIEZMANN!

It's heading for the top corner.

Ter Stegen gets a big hand on it to push it over the bar.

Griezmann tracks back but is unable to get it off Dembélé near the corner flag. Dembélé eventually crosses into the box but there is no-one there. Griezmann's workrate, as ever, is phenomenal.

MOLINA!

The Argentinian drives forward on the right before unleashing a powerful effort that goes wide of Ter Stegen's left-hand post. 

Atlético have had a couple of chances and have improved since Dembélé's goal.

GIMÉNEZ!

The ball is sent in from the right by Molina. The Uruguayan gets up highest and heads just wide. It's Atlético's best chance of the game so far and Giménez knows it.

The shot comes off Araújo and Atlético have another corner.

Gavi clears Griezmann's corner away.

Griezmann, in the hole, clips a ball over the top for Marcos Llorente to run on to. The latter smacks the side netting with his effort. 0-1

Busquets goes down after a challenge from Griezmann. There's really not a whole lot in it and Atlético players appeal.

Xavi is very angry about something on the touchline. His side is leading but something has annoyed him.

Atlético find themselves 1-0 down. Barcelona will continue to have the ball and the home side will look to hit them on the break.

Gimenez flies out to block Ansu Fati's effort from 12 yards. That's twice that Fati has found himself in a central position, but on both occasions the Atlético defence have reacted and blocked.

Barrios impressed for Atlético in the club's recent games against Elche and Real Oviedo and has been thrown in for the big one tonight. Simeone clearly believes in him.

The young Spain international led the line as a substitute in the Blaugrana’s Copa del Rey tie against Intercity in midweek, his extra-time goal earning a 4-3 win.

Goals by Yéremi Pino and Gerard Moreno earned Villarreal a 2-1 win over Madrid on Saturday, handing Barça the opportunity to open up a lead at the Cívitas Metrpolitano, in their last game before heading to Saudi Arabia for the Spanish Super Cup.
