“Back when they were happy”: PSG star Neymar ‘likes’ happy times with Lionel Messi at Barcelona
The former Barça duo have been blamed for PSG’s on-field struggles by sections of the support; will Neymar join Messi in leaving?
The drama continues at Paris Saint-Germain. On Wednesday, a group of ultras made its way to the club’s headquarters to ‘protest’ against Lionel Messi’s unauthorised trip to Saudi Arabia before then moving on to Neymar’s house, where they demanded that the player leave the Ligue 1 leaders. The said fans believe the former Barcelona duo are to blame for the team’s current struggles, perceiving that their sky-high salaries aren’t befitting of their performances on the field.
Neymar ‘likes’ happier times with Messi on Instagram
Now, Neymar has seemingly bitten back, albeit indirectly, on social media. Shortly after the news broke about those Parisian ‘protests’, Brazilian broadcaster TNT posted a photo of the former Santos star hugging Messi while the pair were together at Barça, along with the following text: “All fans think the same thing...they were happy back then”. And Neymar fanned the flames by liking the post (the attacker’s ‘like’ has now disappeared but was visible for a good few hours).
“Don’t let people drag you into their storms”
Neymar, a very active social media user, also posted a rather cryptic Instagram story shortly after his ‘visitors’ had come and gone: “Don’t let people drag you into their storms, bring them into your peace”.
It has been confirmed that Messi will leave PSG this summer and the Brazilian’s future is also up in the air, with rumours circulating that he could depart after six years in the French capital.
