Barcelona set to complete the signing of Julián Araujo from LA Galaxy

According to Fabrizio Romano, the LaLiga club have managed to complete the signing of Araujo.

Barcelona are set to complete the signing of Julián Araujo, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. The right-back will join from MLS side from LA Galaxy and will land in Barcelona tomorrow to complete his medical.

Romano claims that he will join the Blaugrana until June 2026 and that Barcelona will pay just under €4m. The defender is valued at €6m, according to Transfermarkt.

Born in Lompoc, California, Araujo is a full Mexico international. At LA Galaxy he has played in 109 games, scoring two goals and providing 14 assists.

Done deal

Barcelona took the signing of Araujo to the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The transfer failed to materialise just 18 seconds before the end of the January transfer window and FIFA would not accept the move.

Club sporting director Mateo Alemany assured that the transfer was not completed due to a system failure by FIFA. The Catalan outfit then went to CAS to resolve the case, which will be closed this Thursday.

Araujo, who is only 21, played in the Barcelona academy in Arizona and will play, in principle, in the Barcelona B team coached by Rafa Márquez.
