The Barcelona players can now plan their Christmas holidays. The coaching staff has informed the squad of the Christmas holiday schedule and this year, the start of the club’s rest period will begin in Dallas.

The Blaugrana squad, who were off yesterday and will also rest today before returning to training on Thursday to prepare for the game against Girona, will officially end the LaLiga year playing against Almería on Wednesday 20 December at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.

Barcelona vs América in Dallas

But that match will not be the end of the club’s activity, as as soon as the match against the Andalusian side is over, they will head straight to the United States, where they will play a friendly match against Mexico’s Club América in Dallas. The match is being played purely for financial reasons, as Barcelona will be paid around $4 million to play the game, although the club will receive a reduced amount due to the bonus that the players who travel to the United States will receive. Several staff members are not happy about the organised friendly in the US.

Vitor Roque

Once the Dallas game has been played, the players will be on holiday and will not return to club duty until December 28, when Brazilian striker Vitor Roque is expected to arrive. Some of the squad will not return to Europe and will spend the holidays in their home countries.
