Harry Kane, who has been in the form of his life since moving from Tottenham Hotspur to Bayern Munich, has revealed which player he would most like to play alongside (which will probably come as a surprise to absolutely nobody).

In an interview with ESPN, the England captain and all-time top goalscorer didn’t have to give his answer much thought when asked the question, with Inter Miami star Lionel Messi the man he feels would bring out the very best in him.

Kane sure Inter Miami’s Messi would give him “a few assists”

“I would love to play with Messi. He is one of the greatest players to ever play our game. I’m sure he’d be able to give me a few assists,” Kane said.

The former Spurs striker is by no means the first, and will undoubtedly not be the last, player to reveal his admiration for and desire to link up with the Argentina captain, who won his eighth Ballon d’Or at the age of 36 at the end of October.

In a separate interview, Kane, 30, recently spoke of his desire to emulate Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s longevity by playing into his late thirties.

How many goals has Kane scored since joining Bayern?

The Englishman could hardly have dreamed of making a better start to this first season in Germany, scoring 19 goals and providing seven assists in his first 15 matches for Bayern, including 10 goals in his last five appearances in all competitions.

The Bavarians have already made it through to the knockout stages of the Champions League with two games to spare but, despite Kane’s superb form, are only second in the Bundesliga, two points behind Bayer Leverkusen, managed by former Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso.
