Chelsea sack manager Liam Rosenior after historically bad run
Chelsea have sacked Liam Rosenior, their second manager in a matter of months, following the Blues 3-0 away loss to Brighton on Tuesday night.

Chelsea have sacked their manager, Liam Rosenior, after a historically bad run of matches. Their latest loss was the final straw for the former RC Strasbourg manager who was brought in January.
Rosenior out after four months
Chelsea’s board took swift action after the Blues lost 3-0 to Brighton on Tuesday night. They axed manager Liam Rosenior who took the position, not as an interim manager, but as the permanent manager who signed a six and a half year contract at the beginning of the calendar year. He came from sister club RC Strasbourg after getting “groomed” for the position. Enzo Maresca was sacked in January, now Rosenior is the latest manager to be put on the chopping block.

It’s OVER after 4 months, and 5 consecutive defeats with 0 goals scored. ❌ pic.twitter.com/5dVf1NnBfS
The decision follows a string of five straight losses in Premier League, and not just losses but they failed to score in each of those matches. It’s the first time in the 114 year history of the club that they have gone through such a spell without scoring. The goal scoring drought has put them well outside of the Champions League picture looking looking in. Brighton jumped them for the sixth spot in the league ladder, and the loss on Tuesday leaves them seven points behind Liverpool with 55 points and a game still to play this round.

The club’s owners, BlueCo, made the decision to let the manager that they felt fit to lead this club for the long term just four months ago. Supporters of both Chelsea and RC Strasbourg united in protest before Chelsea’s match against Manchester United over the weekend to voice their displeasure with the those in charge at Stamford Bridge. The decision to axe Rosenior just months after hiring him is just the latest in a long list of head scratchers that has left Chelsea fans fuming.
