Chivas Guadalajara had a Christmas Day surprise prepared for their fans, as in a matter of minutes they announced the re-signing of two club youth products ahead of the Clausura 2023 tournament.

Ríos signing follows Guzmán confirmation

The first was Víctor Guzmán, who has rejoined from Pachuca, and shortly afterwards Los Rojiblancos confirmed the arrival of Daniel Ríos, the 27-year-old moving from MLS franchise Charlotte FC.

Ríos back in Mexico after US stint

Ríos returns to Estadio Akron four years after leaving to sign for Nashville SC, also in the US.

Our youth academy graduate Daniel Ríos returns home and joins Chivas ahead of the CL23″, Guadalajara posted on social media on Sunday.

After emerging from the club’s youth set-up, the forward was part of the squad led by Matías Almeyda that won the 2015 Copa MX.

However, a few months later he was loaned to Coras de Tepic, before temporary spells at Zacatepec and North Carolina FC were followed by a permanent switch to Nashville in 2018.
