The final stages of the CONCACAF Champions Cup are upon us, with Columbus Crew set to take on Monterrey at Lower.com Field in the first leg of the semifinals. The current MLS Cup holders are flying the flag for the United States, with Mexican presence in the final guaranteed as Club América take on Pachuca in the other last-four clash.

Rayados looking for next US scalp after Messi’s Inter Miami

The Crew already eliminated Liga MX opposition in the last round, defeating Tigres in a penalty shootout after a 2-2 draw on aggregate. Wilfried Nancy’s team will be looking to repeat the feat against Rayados and know that a strong performance in the home leg will likely be key.

Monterrey have proven themselves to be one of the strongest Mexican teams around, although their form has dropped off somewhat after eliminating Lionel Messi and Inter Miami in the quarterfinals. Fernando Ortiz’s side are seen by some as favourites to progress to the final, where either Las Águilas or Los Tuzos will be waiting.
