“It hurts more than I can explain”: Lamine Yamal speaks out after injury blow
Yamal will miss the rest of Barcelona’s season due to a hamstring injury, although he should be available for the World Cup.
Barcelona have confirmed that Lamine Yamal has suffered a torn hamstring in his left leg, a significant setback for both player and club at a critical stage of the season. According to the team’s medical report, the teenage winger is expected to be sidelined for four to five weeks.
The timeline rules him out for the final stretch of LaLiga, dealing a major blow to Barcelona’s title push. However, there is some relief in that Yamal is still expected to have a chance of being fit in time for the upcoming World Cup.
Yamal shares emotional message
After learning the extent of the injury, Yamal addressed fans directly, expressing his frustration at being forced out just when he felt most needed.
“This injury keeps me off the field at the moment I most wanted to be there, and it hurts more than I can explain,” he wrote. “It hurts not being able to fight alongside my teammates, not being able to help when the team needs me.”
The tests carried out have confirmed that first-team player Lamine Yamal has a hamstring injury in his left leg (biceps femoris muscle).

Despite the disappointment, the 18-year-old made it clear he still believes in the group’s ability to finish the job.
“I believe in them, and I know they’ll give everything in every game,” he added. “I’ll be there, even from the outside, supporting and pushing just like one of them. This isn’t the end, it’s just a pause. I’ll come back stronger, more motivated than ever, and next season will be better.”
Barcelona face decisive stretch without key attacker
From a sporting perspective, Barcelona now lose their most dynamic attacking threat for the final six games of the league season. Key matchups against Getafe, Osasuna, Real Madrid, Alavés, Real Betis and Valencia loom large as Hansi Flick looks to guide his team over the line.
The German coach will need to reshape his attack at a pivotal moment, though Barcelona’s nine-point cushion at the top of the table provides a margin for error.
Inside the locker room, Yamal’s absence is viewed as a significant setback. Still, the team remains focused on protecting its lead and closing out the season without one of its standout performers.
