Following a momentous season for the club with Lionel Messi’s arrival generating global headlines for both Inter Miami and MLS, the Leagues Cup winners are now plotting and planning the make-up of the squad for 2024 where Tata Martino’s men will compete in the MLS regular season, US Open Cup, defend their Leagues Cup title and participate for the first time ever in the CONCACAF Champions League.

Strength in depth will be key for the Argentine coach with Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez one of the high profile names linked with a move to the DRV PNK Stadium for the 2024 campaign.

In recent days, former Manchester United keeper David de Gea is another name linked with a move to the Herons. The 33-year-old has been away from the game and is a free agent since his last contract with the Red Devils expired on 30 June. The keeper was linked with Al Nassr and has reportedly turned down a series of offers from European clubs.

De Gea was also recently linked as a possible buyer for Spanish second division side CD Eldense with his previous efforts to secure a major shareholding with Elche CF thwarted.
