Did Mohamed Salah’s twitter post just sentence Arne Slot at Liverpool? What Salah said, and consequences
Liverpool suffered an agonizing loss to Aston Villa at Villa Park on Friday, and Mohamed Salah delivered an X post that could put Arne Slot’s job in danger.

Liverpool has seen better days. They are on coming off of a league loss to Aston Villa that puts their spot in the Champions League in jeopardy, and their manger Arne Slot is the one paying the price at the moment. There is speculation around his job security, and Mohamed Salah’s post on social media didn’t do much to calm the waters at Anfield.
UCL comes down to final round
The Reds had a chance to secure a spot in the Champions League at Villa Park last night, but they put in one of their worst performances of the season against top five rival Aston Villa. Now it could come down to the final match of the season to qualify for the UCL, but in the mind of many it hasn´t been enough to keep current manager Arne Slot on board for another year.
Mohamed Salah did not hold back in his assessment of the season and the loss against Villa on Friday night. “I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that,” said Salah after the 4-2 defeat.
Salah came off the bench at Villa Park after returning from a thigh injury. He played 17 minutes and by the time he was introduced into the game Unai Emery’s team was already winning 3-1. It was a decisive game that Liverpool let slide through their fingers and now they will have to “save their season” on the final matchday of the season.
Back to heavy metal roots, says Salah
Salah, who already announced that he was leaving the club at the end of the season, stated his concern for the short and long term future of the club. While he won’t be involved in a Champions League or a Europa League campaign next year, he expects the club in which he created his legacy to be fighting for the top titles each and every year. “Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies.”

The heavy metal comment refers to Liverpool’s style of play under Jurgen Klopp. In his 10 years in charge of the Reds the German manager coined the term “heavy metal football,” which translates to high intensity, attacking play that turned Liverpool into a giant of not just English soccer but European soccer.
Liverpool manager Arne Slot came into Anfield and won the Premier League, although many attribute that his inheritance of Klopp’s squad. His second season hasn’t been as successful, and now with a spot in the Champions League in jeopardy and one of the club legends openly criticizing the current manger, Slot’s job security seems to be getting less and less certain. Xabi Alonso has been rumored to be a favorite to replace Slot, but rumors claim the Spaniard is off to manage Chelsea after their FA Cup loss to Manchester City. Before the loss against Villa, Slot came out and told the media he has no reason to believe that he won’t be the manager of Liverpool next year.
