Liverpool midfielder Fabinho will be fit for the Champions League final, according to Jurgen Klopp.

The Brazilian will miss the FA Cup final on Saturday with a hamstring injury picked up in the midweek win over Aston Villa at Villa Park.

After the match with Villa, there were fears that he would also miss the Champions League final against Real Madrid in Paris on 28 May.

“He will definitely be back for the Champions League final,” Klopp said on Friday.

The German coach was asked whether Fabinho would return in time for Liverpool’s other end of season fixtures, Klopp said: “We will see. Fab is a professional. He wasn’t happy about it but he’s taken it. He’s absolutely OK.”

FA Cup final

An FA Cup final victory at Wembley on Saturday would be Liverpool’s second domestic trophy of the season after they won the Carabao Cup against Chelsea.

“I don’t think any of my players won the FA Cup before. I didn’t win it. Millie (James Milner) won it? The only one? So for the rest it would be the first time. The boys worked their socks off to arrive there. It is a massive final for us,” Klopp continued.
