The list of the most jerseys sold in MLS was released on Monday, with Gareth Bale taking the top spot, ahead of the likes of Christian Fuchs, Carlos Vela, Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez and Josef Martinez.

Through its Twitter account, the North American league published an image, accompanied by a link to the note on its official website, in which the Wales international can be seen as the number one in jersey sales in MLS 2022. The second place is held by Fuchs, an Austrian defender who was once a Premier League champion with Leicester City and is the captain of Charlotte FC.

In third and fourth place are Mexican strikers Carlos Vela of LAFC and Chicharito Hernández of LA Galaxy, who are the captains and leading lights of their teams. Bale has only been in Los Angeles for around three months, but the former Real Madrid player’s track record has seen him make an immediate impact with fans.

Other players on the list include Josef Martínez (Atlanta United), Raúl Ruidíaz (Seattle Sounders), Karol Swiderski (Charlotte FC), Xherdan Shaqiri (Chicago Fire), Jordan Morris (Seattle Sounders) and Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC), showing the impact of the CONCACAF Champions League winners, the debutant franchise and the support that some newcomers have in North America.
