Gary Neville says Igor Tudor “car crash” at Tottenham needs to come to an end
Tottenham are flirting with fire in the final stretch of the season, and Premier League legend Gary Neville says they need to make a change and soon.

Tottenham Hotspur are in the midst of a second straight disastrous campaign in the Premier League, but this year relegation is a real possibility. Manchester United legend Gary Neville says Spurs needs to cut ties with their interim manager before it’s too late.
Pull the plug says Neville
You can’t put all of misery at White Hart Lane on the shoulders of Igor Tudor. It’s been a season of suffering in North London and there were deep rooted problems long before the Croatian came to town looking to turn things around after a terrible start under Thomas Frank. Now the situation is dire with just one point separating Tottenham from the relegation zone.
After just under a month, things have gone from bad to worse for Tottenham. Tudor has been on the touchline for four matches and Spurs have lost all four of those matches with their biggest embarrassment coming at the Estadio Metropolitano on Tuesday night. It was a nightmare outing for keeper Antonin Kinsky who conceded three goals in 17 minutes and was subbed off before the 20 minute mark. Now Neville is pointing the finger at the interim manager.
On The Overlap’s Stick to Football podcast the ex Man U captain blasted Tudor for the way he has handled things over the last few weeks. “I thought it was brutal. I thought the whole thing of the last few weeks and then that, the whole thing is just a car crash, a shambles.”
Metropolitano masacre
Tudor took a chance on Kinsky, who is the reserve keeper, and the gamble backfired. The teenager made to critical mistakes that directly led to Atletico de Madrid goals and he was yanked off the pitch in tears. Neville claims the real problem is the way Tudor handled the situation after the match. “The problem I had was Tudor’s interview. I think he’s got to come in there and say, ‘Look, I got this wrong, I should have left (Guglielmo) Vicario in net’, but he didn’t, he doubled down.”
Instead, Tudor faced the media and seemed to evade some of the blame. “What happened is very rare. I’ve been coaching for 15 years, I’ve never done this. It was necessary to preserve the guy, preserve the team. Incredible situation, nothing to comment,” said the Croatian.
Neville is just one of many pundits and former players who are calling for a change on the touchline in Tottenham. Former Spurs manager Harry Redknapp’s name has been swirling of late, but only time will tell if the club swing the axe on Tudor and look for a replacement to their interim manager for the final nine matches of the season. Neville finished by saying, “If you’re going to make another change, that for me needs to be today or tomorrow, because you don’t wait.”
