After 17 seasons with Juventus, Giorgio Chiellini has confirmed that he will leave the Serie A side at the end of the current campaign. The Old Lady has allowed the Italian international to terminate his contract, which was due to expire in 2023, based on personal request.

Chiellini to join LAFC

Earlier this week it was reported that Los Angeles FC offered the legendary Italian defender a contract that will run through the 2023 Major League Soccer season, but not as a designated player. This means that the 37-year-old player can earn up to $1.65 million per season and it seems that he will accept the offer.

Giorgio Chiellini will make one last appearance at Allianz stadium on Monday night when Juventus hosts Lazio. The latest report from TuttoJuve indicated that the Italian defender is eager to play in Major League Soccer before retiring.

Chiellini will add experience to a young Los Angeles FC team that currently are in first place in the Western Conference and are a top contender to win the MLS Cup this year. So far, LAFC has played 11 games and there are 23 left in the regular season.
