Guinness World Records: the longest mustache, the loudest burp and Cristiano Ronaldo

There are few things that Cristiano Ronaldo hasn’t achieved in soccer and the former Real Madrid superstar added to his list of accomplishments before the second leg of Portugal’s Nations League quarterfinal against Denmark.

Cristiano Ronaldo receives Guinness World Record

During the warmup, the 40-year-old was presented on the field at Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon with a Guinness World Record for most victories in men’s international soccer. Since making his debut for Portugal in 2003, Ronaldo has been involved in 132 wins for his country, more than any other male.

The Al Nassr striker also holds plenty of other records, of course, including most goals scored in men’s international soccer matches, most men’s international caps, first player to score 100 UEFA Champions League goals and the person with most followers on Instagram.

There are Guinness World Records for almost anything these days, so Ronaldo being the holder of one puts him in some interesting company.

Cristiano in good GWR company

For instance, he ranks alongside Ram Singh Chauhan of India, who has the world’s longest mustache, coming in at 4.29 meters (similar to the length of a car).

Englishman Paul Bunn, meanwhile, has earned the Guinness World Records for the loudest burp, recorded at 109.9 decibels, said to be comparable to the sound of a motorcycle.

Chauhan and Bunn are likely safe from Ronaldo in those categories, although you wouldn’t bet against the Portugal captain claiming more awards before his soccer playing days are up, whenever that may be.
