He is only 19 but Pedri is the most valuable midfielder in the world. He joins fellow stars Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden at the top of the list for midfielders.

The website Transfermarkt has increased the Spain international’s market value to €90 million, making him the most valuable midfielder in the world.

The former Las Palmas creator has gone from a valuation of €15 million in October 2020 to being worth almost €100 million, an impressive ascent to the top of the game for one so young.

Key for Barcelona and Spain

Pedri is a key member of the starting eleven with both Barcelona and Spain. This season he is aiming to hit double figures for goals scored. From scoring four goals in the 2020-21 season and scoring five in the 2021-22 season, he would like to add to his previous numbers as he continues to develop.

From providing six assists in his first season at Barça, he dropped to just one last season. Pedri, like Iniesta, is much more important in the pre-assist, the pass before the final pass. He is much more of a playmaker, and his coaches, Xavi and Luis Enrique, are demanding that he gets forward more to add to his goals, assists and all-round game.

At Camp Nou, he has the likes of Dembélé, Lewandowski, Ferran Torres, Raphinha, Memphis and Ansu Fati to feed. With Spain, there are options like Morata, Sarabia, Yéremi, Nico and Borja in more advanced positions. He is set to play a big part for La Roja in Qatar.
