Update:

Mauricio Pochettino became head coach of the USMNT in 2024 after Greg Berhalter’s departure after a poor Copa América performance, which saw Team USA crash out at the group stage.

How much is Mauricio Pochettino’s salary as USMNT manager?

As of yet, the contract details haven not been made public, but reports claim that he is making approximately $6 million a year in his two-year contract with USMNT, which ends after the 2026 World Cup.

The contract with Team USA makes him the highest paid coach in the history or U.S. Soccer.

Why did Pochettino leave Chelsea?

US Soccer made it clear that they were in search of a big name appointment to succeed Berhalter, with Jürgen Klopp even linked to the role. However, it seems that the online noise surrounding the German was more in hope than expectation, and now it seems that the US have got their man in Pochettino, with reports naming him a top target from the off.

Pochettino’s most recent job in management came in the Premier League, with Chelsea. However, he was sacked after just one season at the helm in London, with disagreements over Chelsea’s strategy for signing players reportedly at the core of the divide.

In that season, he guided the club to Europe and finished sixth in the Premier League. “Thank you to the Chelsea ownership group and sporting directors for the opportunity,” Pochettino said at the time. “The club is now well positioned to keep moving forward in the Premier League and Europe in the years to come.”
