How much prize money does the 2025 Champions League winner receive?

Following the midweek second leg of the 2024-25 Champions League semi finals, we now know the names of the two teams who will participate in the Munich final at the end of the month.

Inter Milan and Barcelona played out an incredible tie with the ‘Nerazzurri’ progressing after two epic games, winning 7-6 on aggregate and the following night PSG advanced to their second final with a comfortable 4-1 aggregate win over Arsenal.

Inter are gunning for their fourth European triumph with PSG in the hunt for, what would be their first ever UCL win.

Prize money and more

For the 2024/25 season expanded ‘Swiss Model’ Champions League, UEFA increased the overall purse to $2.73bn, compared to $2.1bn from the previous season.

Both Inter and PSG have already pocketed over $155 million dollars each for progressing to Munich.

Winning the competition on May 31 would see the victorious side bagging $28.6 million with the runners-up walking away with $21 million.

But apart from the financial bonanza of winning the biggest prize in European domestic football, there are another series of add-ons for the winner.

Super Cup and CWC places

The winning side will also progress to participate in the UEFA Super Cup (against the winning Europa League team) next August with the final schedule to be played in Udine (Italy) on August 13. That in itself sees another cash injection of $4.5 million.

They UCL winners will also advance to the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup which will be staged in December and will also join Saudi Arabia’s Al-Ahli in the 2029 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup with each of these tournaments also offering attractive prize money.
