The 32-year-old goalkeeper belongs to Monterrey but joined Necaxa on loan last summer, specifically for this tournament. In an interview for TUDN he claimed that the original plan was for him to join Chivas but Monterrey refused.

Other outlets such as 90 minutos reported last year that González would return to Rayados at the end of his loan, but as of today nothing has been confirmed.

The keeper’s numbers in the Clausura 2023

In the 16 games he has played in this tournament, González conceded 21 goals and kept a clean sheet three times - in the victories against Cruz Azul and Necaxa and in the draw against Santos Laguna.

In addition, in the Top 10 goalkeepers with the most saves so far, he recorded a total of 54, surpassing Miguel Jiménez (53) from Guadalajara, Óscar Ustari (52) from Pachuca, Tiago Volpi (51) from Toluca and Jesús Corona (51) from Cruz Azul.
