Inter Miami fan group plans special Messi welcome

The Inter Miami fan base eagerly awaits the grand presentation and debut of Lionel Messi in the club’s jersey in South Florida. In preparation for these significant dates on July 16 and 21 respectively, they are organizing a massive pre and post-event celebration.

Miami manages Messi-mania

In an interview with AS USA, ‘Cachito’, the leader of Inter Miami’s supporter group known as ‘Vice City 1896′, revealed that they are planning a grand reception for Messi. He highlighted that before the presentation, they have arranged a big party outside DRV PNK Stadium, featuring beer, choripanes (Argentinian sausage sandwiches), and Argentine music in honor of the South American folklore that characterizes these supporter groups.

“For the presentation, I’ve already secured a sponsorship with a brewery that has generously provided us with 200 beers. We’ll be making around 300 choripanes, and I’ve also arranged for an Argentine cumbia band to play covers of Argentine music. It’s going to be a beautiful event,” explained Cachito.

The fan leader also revealed that they have prepared a special chant for Messi, reminiscent of the song used by Argentina supporters during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

“As a collective, we support Inter. Obviously, there will be the typical chants of ‘Messi, Messi’, and a tribute after 10 minutes of the game [in honor of his jersey number]. We are also creating a chant that goes like this: ‘Muchachos cuídame si lo vinimos a ver, pongan huevos jugadores, hoy no podemos perder,’ (roughly translated to ‘Guys, take care of him because we came to see him, give it your all, players, we can’t lose today.’ You can hear his version in the video above)

We are looking for something that identifies him, the club, and us as fans,” added Cachito.

Inter Miami readies Messi party inside the DRV PNK Stadium

The club is organizing a massive party inside DRV PNK Stadium, with artists like Shakira, Maluma, and others going to be present.

The fan group have prepared another special surprise for Messi’s debut in the Leagues Cup match against Cruz Azul on July 21, but Cachito did not share further details.

“Afterward, inside the stadium, the club takes charge because Maluma, Shakira, and others will be there. That’s where the real show begins. We, as fans, do our part outside, and the club handles the presentation inside.

“And for the match, there is a beautiful surprise that we can’t yet reveal,” added the Herons supporter.
