Jesse Marsch took over the managerial job at Leeds United earlier this year with the purpose of avoiding relegation in their first season back in the Premier League. The results have not favored the American head coach and on Sunday they suffered a tough 2-1 defeat against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium.

Leeds now sit in 18th place in the standings with 34 points and with three games left of the 2021/22 EPL season. They are tied in points with Burnley, but Leeds have a worse goal difference. It is crucial, therefore to start adding points in each of the final fixtures in order to avoid relegation and they will start their road to salvation on Wednesday against Chelsea.

Back-to-back home games

The London-based club is in need of points because they want to secure their spot in the UEFA Champions League next year. So it will not be an easy match for Marsch’s lads but they are confident that playing at home with their crowd will give them the boost they need.

It will be a busy week for Marsch because after playing against the Blues they will face Brighton on 15 May. The good news for the American coach is that they will have back-to-back home games and they will finish the campaign visiting Brentford on 22 May.
