Juárez reach deal with Rosario Central for Luca Martínez Dupuy
An agreement still needs to be reached with the Mexican striker, who has offers from Chivas and Pumas.
Rosario Central and Juárez have reached an agreement in principle for the signing of young Mexican striker Luca Martínez Dupuy. Now all that remains is for the Liga MX club to agree personal terms with the player. Once a deal is reached with the 22-year-old, Juárez can proceed with the operation in which they will secure 70% of the player’s rights for approximately US$2.4 million on a four-year contract.
Martínez Dupuy has two other official offers on the table, as confirmed by AS México, in addition to Juárez’s offer, there is one from Chivas, which was rejected by Rosario Central. Pumas UNAM also put in a loan proposal, but that was also turned down by Rosario’s board, according to sources close to the operation.
The striker, who came through the lower categories at Rosario team, has a valid contract with the Argentine club until December 2024. He recently participated in the Maurice Revello 2023 youth tournament (formerly known as Esperanzas de Toulon), with Mexico’s Under-20 team in France.
Dupuy made his first team debut for Canalla on 2 November 2020, and has played a total of 55 games for the Argentine club, with 14 starts, seven goals and a couple of assists.
