Following on from the emotional rollercoaster ride of the quarter finals, more drama awaits in the Apertura 2023 semi-finals which will be played out over the next seven days. América, Tigres, Pumas and Atlético San Luis are the last four teams at this advanced stage of the tournament - all seeking their place in the grand final. Today, the Liga MX announced the dates and kick-off times of all four games in the run-up to the final.

América vs Atlético San Luis

The Águilas were given a tough time by León in the last round but ultimately demonstrated their superiority at the Azteca to secure their ticket to the semis. The first leg ended all square at 2-2, but André Jardine’s team put in a solid performance at home to take the tie 2-4 on aggregate and keep their dreams of a 14th title alive.

Atlético San Luis on the other hand pulled the biggest surprise of the competition so far by eliminating Monterrey away from home after sneaking the slimmest advantage in the home leg. The first match of this series will be at the Alfonso Lastras on Wednesday, December 6 at 9 p.m. local time while the return will be held at the Colossus of Santa Úrsula on Saturday, December 9 at 8 p.m.

Tigres vs Pumas

The other semi-final is an all-feline affair. Tigres are hell-bent on logging back-to-back championships and showed that they have it in them to do just that by eliminating Puebla at home after tying the first leg 2-2. In front of them, they will face a Pumas side who arrive at a great moment after dumping Chivas out (4-0 agg.).

Mohamed’s experience ended up being the difference against Guadalajara and with Chino Huerta in fine form, the university students aspire to reach the final again. The first leg will take place on Thursday, December 7 at 9 p.m. local time in Ciudad Universitaria and the return game will be played on Sunday, December 10 at 8 p.m. at the Volcán.
