Update:
Liga MX: Brian Rodríguez on the new challenge at América

The Águilas of América are having a good time, as they have the best offense in the tournament, have just thrashed the Mazatlán team, and are fighting for top spot of the Apertura 2022 with the Rayados of Monterrey. Despite the fact that the tournament had already started, the board of directors of the azulcrema team looked for new signings and the Uruguayan Brian Rodríguez was hired.

Rodríguez settling in

A few days after debuting for his national football, the Uruguayan made it clear that his arrival is not one of his greatest challenges.

“I don’t know if it’s the greatest, but where I’m at is a great team,” he said. “I’ll give my all when I get my turn, the opportunities I have, I see it as a great goal, but I don’t see it as my biggest challenge.

“I am 22 years old, I come to mature here, to learn a lot, to give my best.”

“It was made possible [the signing] thanks to many people, América’s confidence was fundamental. I am very happy to join a team as big as América and my expectations are very high, to achieve the many objectives that the club has and to contribute my grain of sand in what I can,” he explained.

Likewise, the former Los Angeles FC player thanked the trust shown by the azulcrema board.

As I told you before, there was a lot of confidence, América showed that they had a lot of confidence in me. The coaching staff, the people, the love was also very important.

“I wanted to be here, I am proud to be here.”

For now, América is in second place in the table with 22 points from 11 games played. The azulcrema team are to face Atlético San Luis, Necaxa, Santos Laguna, Chivas and Puebla in a testing run.
