Manchester City vs Sevilla: times, how to watch on TV, stream online | UEFA Super Cup
Pep Guardiola’s Champions League winners take on Europa League specialists Sevilla in Greece’s Karaiskakis Stadium.
The 2023 UEFA Super Cup brings together two teams who took very different routes to continental glory last season.
Manchester City enjoyed one of the finest campaigns in the history of European football as they completed a famous treble. Pep Guardiola’s team cruised past Bayern Munich and Real Madrid on their way to the club’s first-ever European title.
After adding Josko Gvardiol for £77 million ($98m) and Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea, City look set to mount another challenge for the Champions League in 2023/24.
While City’s Champions League triumph was the culmination of a brilliant season for the club, Europa League winners Sevilla had a much more uncertain path. The LaLiga side were battling relegation for much of the 2022/23 and it was only after the arrival of Jose Luis Mendilibar, the club’s third head coach of the season, that they turned their form around.

And yet despite the inconsistency in the league, Sevilla continued to perform in Europe. The seven-time Europa League winners knocked out Manchester United and Juventus, before beating Roma on penalties in the final.
City will go into the game as favourites, but you can never truly rule out Los Rojiblancos in Europe.

UEFA have not yet confirmed the identity of the referee for the 2023 Super Cup and we expect that they will make the announcement closer to the fixture.
Last year’s official, English referee Michael Oliver, was announced on 9 August 2022, just one day before the clash between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt.
Manchester City vs Sevilla prediction
Early season fixtures can be particularly difficult to predict as teams are still looking to settle into their rhythm and introduce new players to the lineup.
However the gulf in quality - on paper, at least - between Premier League champions Manchester City and Sevilla, who finished 12th in LaLiga, is stark.
Prediction: Manchester City 3-0 Sevilla
