The designer had been scheduled to marry Julián “Tuli” Arellano, a coach with Inter Miami, on January 3 in Rosario, Argentina, but the new date has not yet been announced.
The news broke on Argentina’s América TV program “LAM,” when host Ángel de Brito paused the show to share the update. Speaking with Celia Cuccittini, the mother of the Messi family, de Brito detailed the incident and reassured viewers about María Sol’s condition.

According to de Brito, María Sol lost control of her vehicle while driving, resulting in an accident. Although her life was not in danger, the crash left her with serious injuries. Medical officials confirmed she broke two vertebrae and sustained burns described as “very complicated” by the television host.
Messi’s recovery begins in Rosario
Despite the severity of her injuries, María Sol’s health is stable. She has returned to Rosario to begin her recovery process surrounded by family.
Celia Cuccittini addressed fans directly, saying, “She is okay, she’s back in Argentina,” seeking to reassure followers of Lionel Messi. María Sol has largely stayed out of the public eye throughout her life, valuing her privacy and keeping a low profile despite her famous family.
