Police reportedly investigate alleged sexual assault involving on-loan Barça forward’s brother

Catalonia’s regional police, the Mossos d’Esquadra, are reportedly investigating an alleged sexual assault in Barcelona involving Fatinho Jr., the brother of Monaco forward and Barça loanee Ansu Fati.

What’s known about the alleged sexual assault?

According to the Spanish newspaper ABC, the alleged victim - a young Dutch woman - says she was assaulted in the early hours of Feb. 8 at the home of another Barça soccer player, Lamine Yamal, after a night out at the Catalan capital’s Shoko nightclub.

However, both Barça and Catalan police sources have denied that the claimed assault took place at Yamal’s residence, which is located in Esplugues de Llobregat, on the outskirts of Barcelona.

What does the woman allege against Ansu Fati’s brother?

Per ABC, the woman told authorities that she woke up naked with Fatinho Jr. next to her, and believes she may have been subjected to some form of chemical submission.

After the alleged assault, she was taken to a hospital for the appropriate medical examinations. The initial police report also notes that she claims to have been slapped by Fatinho Jr.

For now, the alleged victim has not filed an official complaint, but the investigation remains open as officers work to determine exactly what happened.
