In the midst of a crisis of results, PSG seem to be in an endless cycle of analysing the problems that prevent them from getting closer to the holy grail: the Champions League. Neymar, who started the season on fire, has since come under fire as of the start of the year. His weak performances, together with the fights with teammates, put him back at the exit door for the summer .

Simply put, the French team wants to get rid of the Brazilian in the next summer market, a situation similar to the one he experienced in 2022. Back then he offered to leave, but nobody showed interest in him. His salary, of €36 million net per season, is an understandable setback when it comes to terminating his contract. Chelsea, funded by the fortune of Tod Boehly, want to sign him, but the player is not ready to leave.

Neymar wants to fulfill his entire contract and has let PSG know. According to L’Équipe, his departure in the summer is an unlikely occurence right now. The former Barcelona player renewed automatically until 2027 last June and is not currently contemplating leaving the French capital. Meanwhile, Luis Campos and Al Khelaïfi continue to look for solutions to try to get rid of a player who has not lived up to expectations since he landed in Paris six years ago.

Neymar and the noisy Ney-bourhood

The criticism that Neymar has cooked up in recent months is the direct result of his flat performances. During the beginning of the season, PSG’s number 10 established himself as one of the team’s focal points, putting together spectacular numbers and being decisive week after week. But after the World Cup in Qatar, in which he suffered an ankle injury, his level has seen a considerable drop, added to various non-sporting problems (Such as the noisy parties he is having that are disturbing the residents of his neighbourhood) that have only put him back in the spotlight regarding a possible summer sale.
