Update:

USMNT star Christian Pulisic has unexpectedly emerged as a possible target for LaLiga team Real Betis.

While reports claim the Spanish club are among several teams keeping an eye on Captain America, any move is currently seen as highly unlikely at this stage given the presumed finances involved.

Betis are first focused on balancing their finances before stepping up their transfer activity. The incoming sale of Sergi Altimira and the expected departure of Nelson Deossa would give the club more room to strengthen the squad ahead of the new season.

The USMNT winger is regarded as one of those opportunities, even if the chances of landing him remain slim. The 27-year-old is coming off the back of a tough year on the pitch, where he went on a goalless run that attracted the attention of the world’s media.

For Betis, a deal would likely depend on raising significant funds through player sales. One name that could make a difference is Moroccan winger Ez Abde, who has been linked with interest from clubs in the Premier League. A major move involving Abde to the Premier League, with Aston Villa and Newcastle both said to be interested, could provide the financial flexibility needed to consider a move for a player of Pulisic’s profile.

Real Betis enjoyed one of the most memorable campaigns in the club’s recent history during the 2024/25 season. Manuel Pellegrini guided his side to a sixth-place finish in La Liga, securing UEFA Europa League qualification for a fifth consecutive season, while also leading Betis to their first ever European final.
