Just a few days before the inaugural football match, here is the World Cup guide to how much a Qatar 2022 ticket costs and where to buy them.

The hum around the Fifa World Cup 2022 is increasing, with just a few days to go before the opening clash between hosts Qatar and Ecuador. The hosts and the masses of football pilgrims will assemble in the Gulf nation for the month-long football festival. Everything looks brighter for the fans after the Qatari authorities allowed free entrance into the country, even for those without game tickets.

World Cup news:

The opening match between Qatar and Ecuador will be played on November 20, and the final game, the 64th in total, will be played on December 18 at the Lusail Stadium in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

Opening match:

  • Category 1 tickets - 2,250 Qatari rials (approximately $617);
  • Category 2 - QAR 1,600 ($440);

Tickets availability

According to FIFA, nearly 2.9 million tickets have been bought for the World Cup, with approximately seven percent of seats still unrestricted. Tickets for the general public are obtainable through FIFA’s Main Ticketing Centre at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre from October 18, 2022.

A small contingent of tickets will still be available for purchase at FIFA.com/tickets.
