Rayados shake up front office after disastrous 2026 season
After failing to make the playoffs and finishing with just 18 points in the Clausura 2026, Rayados confirm that important changes are coming.

Rayados de Monterrey just wrapped up one of their roughest seasons in the past decade, and the club is officially signaling major changes ahead.
In a statement released after their Clausura 2026 campaign ended, Monterrey acknowledged to fans that the team’s performance fell far short of expectations — and that a restructuring of the sports department is already underway.
“We clearly recognize that the results and performance of our men’s team this tournament do not reflect what this club strives for, nor what our fans deserve,” the club wrote. “We are already working responsibly and with focus to regain the competitive level we expect. In the coming days, we will announce decisions aimed at strengthening our sports structure.”

Rayados finished the Clausura with just 18 points and failed to reach the Liguilla — something that hadn’t happened in roughly 10 years. They were also knocked out in the Round of 16 of the Concacaf Champions Cup.
Major front-office overhaul coming
The biggest move on deck is at the top: Sporting president José Antonio Noriega is set to step down after a little more than three years in charge. All signs point to Dennis te Kloese taking over, especially after Feyenoord confirmed he will not continue in his current role in the Netherlands.
A new head coach is also expected, along with significant roster adjustments.
What’s next
The squad is scheduled to report to the training center on Tuesday, April 28 to officially break for vacation. While players head into their offseason, the front office will be entering one of its busiest stretches in years as it finalizes the sweeping changes promised in the club’s statement.
