Real Madrid striker Mariano Díaz wants to find new LaLiga club

The striker is open to leaving Real Madrid this summer due to the lack of opportunities. Joining a Laliga club is his priority.

The final stretch of the transfer window could see more players leave Real Madrid. Casemiro will not be the last player to leave the club. The next could be Mariano Díaz. Contrary to what had happened in recent seasons, the striker is open to a change of scenery this summer. Given the lack of game time he has had in pre-season and the fact that Ancelotti does not seem very willing to give him opportunities this season, Mariano has decided that he wants to try his luck away from the Santiago Bernabéu, but on one condition: to play in LaLiga. The Real Madrid striker still wants to continue playing in Spain and prioritises it over going abroad.

Mariano has grown tired of not having a leading role at Real Madrid and for this reason he agrees with the club’s desire to part ways. In the last three seasons, he has only played 1,161 minutes and believes that the time has come to find a new club. Throughout the summer, there have been several clubs with who he has been linked, but those rumours have not come to fruition. Celta, Getafe, Sevilla, Rayo, and Espanyol are some of the teams that were supposedly interested in him, but none of them came up with a strong offer.

Struggling at Real Madrid

Mariano returned to Real Madrid in August 2018 after scoring 18 goals in Ligue 1 with Lyon. He signed for five seasons and cost the white club 21.45 million euros. His return to Madrid was used to cover Cristiano’s departure for Juventus. However, it has not gone to plan. There is still time in the transfer window for the striker to find a move and there are several Laliga teams that are still looking for a striker.
