Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga went down injured following a clash with Ousmane Dembélé during a training session with the French national team. Reports from France say that he was forced to leave the group session, with the player possibly in line for an early return to the Spanish capital to undergo tests.

Camavinga arrived at the national team headquarters after a vein of fantastic form for Real Madrid. He had substituted compatriot Aurélien Tchouaméni in the ex-Monaco player’s absence due to a fractured foot, occupying the pivot role in Ancelotti’s side to perfection. Recent games for Real Madrid showed the player’s class at the base of midfield, a role that the Italian coach of the club had initially thought would not be ideal for a player of his qualities.

As such, expectations were high for Camavinga ahead of the international break, where France will take on Gibraltar and Greece as they look to make huge strides forward in Euro 2024 qualification.

The early signs are positive for Camavinga and his injury.

What is Camavinga’s injury? Will be play for Real Madrid?

The player’s injury is reportedly to his knee, with early reports on the physical issue looking positive. Reports from RMC Sports and ferocious Tweeter, Fabrizio Romano both gave immediate hope to the player and Real Madrid, with the latter commenting that “current indications on Eduardo Camavinga knee injury are very positive for France and Real Madrid. Camavinga will undergo tests tomorrow but it looks like not serious injury for the midfielder”.

Added to this, Canal+ report that Camavinga told Deschamps that he was “OK” as he limped off the pitch and into the training centre, where he will be monitored.

When is Real Madrid’s next game?

The player has over a week to get fit if he wants to make it back in time for Real Madrid’s next game, which is against Cádiz in LaLiga on Sunday 26 November. After that, they play Napoli in the UEFA Champions League in a game that will decide who finishes top of the group ahead of the first knockout round.
