Rogelio Funes Mori could return to Monterrey in two weeks

Rogelio Funes Mori started in peak form at the 2022 Apertura tournament in Liga MX with nine appearances with Monterrey, scoring four goals and providing two assists. However, The 31-year-old suffered a muscle injury in the 1-1 draw against Toluca in mid-August, and since then he has been trying to return to full fitness.

Injury report

Funes Mori, Monterrey’s all-time leading scorer, has missed the last six games and he has been training on his own for the past few weeks. He will certainly miss the upcoming game against Atlas on Sept. 17, but Monterrey gave an update regarding his recovery.

This means that the 31-year-old striker will recover just in time for the upcoming FIFA international break of September with the Mexico national team. Rogelio Funes Mori could see minutes in the friendly against Peru on Sept. 24 and three days later against Colombia, both to be played in California.
