Santiago Giménez continues on a roll in the Netherlands. The Mexican striker was on the scoresheet again for Feyenoord - bringing up his 11th goals in his first season in Europe. The 21-year-old has taken no time to settle in with the Dutch team, who top the league table on 52 points.

Santi made his 10th league start in Feyenoord’s visit to Fortuna Sittard in Week 23 of the Eredivisie. The former Cruz Azul player is now a reference figure in Feyenoord’s attack, gaining praise for his continued excellent performance out on the pitch.

The Mexican striker continues to repay his coach for the faith he has shown him and on Sunday, he scored his sixth league goal. Giménez made it 0-3 on 42 minutes after a Ximo Navarro own goal and a superb Mats Wieffer strike had put them ahead.

Giménez benefitted from the generosity of Alireza Jahanbakhsh, who pounced on a backpass to the unselfishly squared the ball back, leaving his team mate a simple tap-in.

With an hour gone, Giménez made way for Danilo, with whom he regularly competes with for a place in the starting XI. For now, he seems to be winning that battle - he has a 75 per cent passing effectiveness and superior stats according to Sofascore.

It ended 2-4 - a result which keeps Feyenoord top of the standings with a three-point lead over Ajax.
