The praise and awards do not stop for Santiago Giménez: Feyenoord’s Mexican marksman was selected as the best player in the Eredivisie for the month of September.

His seven goals have been crammed into just four games, including the hat trick against Ajax, and they were more than enough for Giménez to take home the award. He bagged two against Utrecht, one against Heerenveen, three against Ajax and one in the clash against Go Ahead Eagles in what was simply sensational form that has even seen him linked with a move to 14-time European champions Real Madrid.

Santi ready to debut in the UEFA Champions League

Giménez served his two-match suspension after receiving a red card against Roma in the Europa League last season, meaning he missed the matches against Celtic and Atlético de Madrid in this year’s Champions League group stage. It was a huge shame for the player, but also for Feyenoord who, after a six-year absence from Europe’s elite tournament, hugely missed their star striker and have just 3 points after 2 games.

For the upcoming European match against Lazio, Santi Giménez will be available once again and is set to start in the Feyenoord side that welcomes the team from Rome on Wednesday, October 25.

As for the domestic competition, Giménez is the league top scorer with 10 goals and 2 assists in 7 games, which works out at a mind-blowing 55 minutes per goal. Feyenoord sit 4th in the league and are still unbeaten having won 5 and drawn 2; they are also just 4 points away from PSV at the top of the pile.
