Despite the fact that Raúl Jiménez has been linked with FC Barcelona in recent days, Barça icon Hristo Stoichkov feels that the Mexican moving to Camp Nou would be a mistake and urges the 31-year-old Tepeji native on a return to the Mexican league and reuniting with América.

“He is a great player, a striker that I really like as his movement off the ball as this opens plenty of space for his teammates. His first year with Wolves his link-up play was Adama Traore excellent with both players wreaking havoc for opponents”.

Injury set-back

“After the injury (the striker suffered a fractured skull in 2020 after a clash with Arsenal’s David Luiz) we have still yet to see the best of Raúl and I think he is still playing with a lot of fear. For me, if we want to see the return of the Raúl Jiménez we all know, there is one fine option and that is to return to América”, said the Bulgarian speaking on TUDN’s Futbol Club.

The Wolves striker was barely fit but was included in El Tri’s Qatar 2022 World Cup squad and this season the player has only managed to find the target in the Carabao Cup but was included by new manager Lopetegui in the third round of the FA Cup as Wolves faced Liverpool at Anfield.
